Vettel expects RB6 to be strong at Suzuka
Sebastian Vettel confirmed pre-race expectations that the Red Bull RB6 will be the car to beat around Suzuka. Looking ahead to next week’s Japanese Grand Prix he also acknowledged the growing threat posed by Ferrari: Suzuka should suit our car, but we still have to go there and prove it. I think we have a [...]

Neukirchner Again Linked To Pramac Ducati MotoGP Ride For 2011
With the majority of seats now either taken or at least penciled in, the 2011 MotoGP grid is starting to take shape. And with just 18 seats available - and the risk of fewer seats, if Suzuki field only one rider or the current Interwetten team can't find the funds to field a bike again next season - the make-up of the grid is becoming increasingly important to Dorna. There will once again be at least four Spaniards in the premier class (Jorge Lorenzo, Dani Pedrosa, Hector Barbera and Alvaro Bautista certain of a seat in 2011), and a very good chance of Toni Elias making it five. Add to that three Americans and four Italians, and diversity is far to be found on the MotoGP grid.
British rider Cal Crutchlow will help add to the range of nationalities on the grid in 2011, when he joins the Monster Tech 3 Yamaha squad for next year, but the arrival of a Brit will only compensate for the loss of a Scandinavian, with Finnish rider Mika Kallio expected to be out of a job at the end of the season, and strong rumors from Finland that the former 125 championship runner up is even considering quitting racing altogether. So it is unsurprising that fresh rumors have emerged that German rider Max Neukirchner will be heading to MotoGP next season, to ride a Ducati. For GPOne.com is reporting that Neukirchner has found sufficient sponsorship to secure a seat at the Pramac Ducati squad, replacing Mika Kallio.

WEC 51's Three Stars: Aldo, Roop and Torres (and bonus Fujii)
Last night was jam-packed with fantastic fights, and not one of the stars weighed more than 155 lbs. Here are the best from WEC 51, and a bonus Bellator fighter thrown in. No. 1 star -- Jose Aldo: Is there any doubt who the top performer last night was? After feeling Manny Gamburyan out for the first round, Aldo landed a perfect uppercut to knock out Gamburyan to hold onto the WEC featherweight belt. That punch will make any other Aldo opponents think twice about going for a takedown. No. 2 star -- George Roop: The Korean Zombie had hype on his side, but Roop had a devastating headkick. As always, the headkick wins. No. 3 star -- Miguel Torres: The former bantamweight champ had lost twice in a row before this bout. At WEC 51, he showed off the skills he learned training with Firas Zahabi, the same trainer who helped GSP to the pound-for-pound crown. Honorable mention -- Megumi Fujii: Sure, she didn't fight at WEC 51, but record breakers always get a mention. Fujii made quick work of Lisa Ward, pretzeling her into one of Fujii's patented armbars and winning for the record 22nd straight time. With that win, she earned the right to fight for Bellator's first women's bout.

Fight stats don't back up Sherk's win over Dunham
It's not easy being a judge. The action in the Octagon is fast and furious, clear views of the action are sometimes blocked and there are plenty elements to block out, like the roar of 15,000-plus fans. So not every close decision is a controversial one but the split victory given to Sean Sherk over Evan Dunham appears to be a little shaky. At first glance, it looked like Sherk took the first on the benefit of several takedowns and busting open a big cut over Dunham's eye. In Rounds 2 and 3, Sherk couldn't score his takedowns and got busted up on the feet by Dunham. Yet Glenn Trowbridge and Cecil Peoples helped Sherk to a split-decision win by each giving him the nod 29-28. The fans didn't like the call and UFC president Dana White was livid with the decision. The judges also don't have the benefit of statistics during the fight. The postfight report released by FightMetric paints a pretty one-sided picture. Sherk, a wrestler by nature, only made good on 5-of-18 takedown attempts. He also improved position, to half-guard, just once. While attempting the takedowns or trying to improve position he also got caught in seven submission attempts. The stats were even worse when the fight was standing. Dunham was incredibly active attempting nearly 200 strikes. He landed an amazing 62 percent of his jabs, 93 of 148 in all.

Iron Mike? Iron Mike: What you need to know from TUF Episode 3
"The Ultimate Fighter" moved to a third episode, where Team Koscheck tried to recover from losing the first fight, and Georges St. Pierre brought in a few special coaches to motivate his team. -- Josh Koscheck was not pleased with the focus of his team. He ripped them halfway through their training session and lit a fire under them. -- Georges St. Pierre brought in 1996 Canadian Olympic silver medalist Gia Sissaouri to work with the team. He brought in another champion, some guy by the name of Mike Tyson.Dana White called Tyson to come in for a fight by GSP's request, and Iron Mike was seriously geeked to come to one of the TUF fights. This man, who has been part of some of the biggest boxing events of all time, was overjoyed about watching exhibition bouts. GSP was equally geeked, telling Tyson how he loved him in Mike Tyson's Punch-Out. Really, GSP? The video game was the best you can do?Fight of the week: Michael Johnson vs. Aaron Wilkinson With Tyson watching, Wilkinson surprised Johnson, GSP's No. 1 pick, by withstanding a bevy of strikes, and followed up with a takedown and ground and pound in the first round. On Tyson's scorecard, Wilkinson won the round.Johnson started the second round strong, with a takedown and crisp striking, but Wilkinson was able to get a takedown. Koscheck called Wilkinson "English" while begging for a takedown. I wonder if that's a not-so-witty nickname for the British fighter, or if Kos just forgot his name. Johnson controlled the rest of the round in the clinch, winning the round. That means only one thing: We're going to a third round.Johnson started round three with an immediate takedown and ground and pound. He then takes Wilkinson's back, sinks in a rear naked choke, and taps him out. With that win, GSP is 2-0. Quotes of the week: "Undestirating my skills" -- Bruce LeRoy, in response to Jason Lentz, the opponent he beat "It's not my first rodeo" -- Georges St. Pierre, after Koscheck and his coaches parked their cars so that GSP couldn't open his car door."He beat a little confidence out of him". -- Tyson, about Michael Johnson"Ya gotta come out, Mike. No more playin' Mike." -- Tyson "I thought that, um, the English guy, had very good boxing."-- Tyson
